google doc iconThe following is an embedded Google Doc where I have kept track of changes made to my Ubuntu 8.10 Linux system as I have configured it with a custom root folder from which Apache2 serves web sites a virtual host that points to the root web folder.

    Thank you so much for taking the time to explain this. I was so used using Apache 1.3 the new file layout in apache2 has really caused me a lot of confusion but your guide is one of the very few that actually work at getting this vhost thing down for me finally.

    Just a small note you may have too copy userdir.load from mods-available to mods-enabled to get this last part working correctly.
